Yard Signs
A yard sign is a print on corrugated plastic, a light twin-wall sheet with hollow flutes, pushed into the ground on a wire H-stake. Real estate agents, contractors, landscapers, schools, churches and campaigns use them for listings, open houses, job-site credit, event directions and fundraisers. Send the size, the quantity, single or double sided and your artwork, and you receive a quote with a digital proof at final size before printing.

How yard signs are printed and staked
Read more
Corrugated plastic is two thin polypropylene skins joined by parallel ribs, the flutes, which make a 4 mm sheet stiff enough to stand on a stake yet light enough to carry fifty under one arm. The sheet is printed flat with UV-resistant inks, then cut to size with the flutes running vertically so the prongs of an H-stake slide inside them. Double-sided signs are printed on both skins in one pass each.
18 x 24 in is the size the industry builds its stakes and frames around, and it reads from the sidewalk and from a slow car. 12 x 18 in suits directional arrows and property-line markers; 24 x 36 in is for a frontage seen from a road. Keep the message to a name, a few words and a phone number in letters at least 3 in tall, and put the contrast in the background colour rather than in fine detail.
To install, push the H-stake legs into the soil to the crossbar, then slide the sign down over the prongs so the flutes take them fully. In hard ground, wet the spot or start the holes with a screwdriver. For a fence, zip-tie through corner grommets. Set listing and directional signs at eye height from a car, facing the traffic that will see them, and check the local rules on signs in the public right-of-way.
Corrugated plastic does not absorb water or rot, so a yard sign stands through a season of rain and sun; the ink fades slowly in strong sunlight and the sheet eventually goes brittle in freezing winters. For a sign that stays up for years, move to aluminum. Signs come out of the ground, stack flat and reuse for the next listing, and each new design is proofed at final size with the flute direction marked before printing.
Options for yard signs
H-stakes
A wire H-stake has two prongs that slide up into the flutes of the sign and two legs that push into the ground. Order one per sign, or fewer if some signs will hang on a fence or sit in a window. The quote lists stakes as their own line.
Double sided
A sign on a lawn or a roadside is seen from both directions, so most listing, directional and campaign signs are printed on both faces. Each side can carry different artwork, such as an arrow pointing each way.
Holes or grommets
For a chain-link fence or a post, ask for drilled holes or metal grommets in the corners so the sign ties on with zip ties. They can be added to a staked sign as well so one set works on lawns and fences.
Thicker sheet or larger size
A 24 x 36 in sign or one that stays up for a season does better on a thicker corrugated sheet or, for a post-mounted sign, on aluminum. Tell us how long it stays out and the quote states the sheet.
How ordering works: quote, digital proof, print, then delivery to the USA or Canada. Nothing prints until you approve the proof.
