Custom Feather Flags
A feather flag is a tall, narrow fabric flag with a curved top, sleeved over a flexible pole so it stays spread in still air and moves in wind, which is what makes it readable from a road or across a parking lot. Car dealers, restaurants, real estate agents, gyms and event organisers plant them at entrances, lot edges and tents. Send the height, single or double sided, where the flag stands (grass, pavement or indoors) and your artwork, and the quote lists the flag, the pole kit and the base.

How feather flags are made, sized and set up

The flag is printed by dye sublimation: the design goes onto transfer paper, then heat presses the ink into knitted polyester, so the colour is in the fibre and the fabric stays soft and light. The panel is sewn with a pole sleeve down the straight edge and a hem around the curve. A single-sided flag shows the artwork on the front and a mirror image on the back; a double-sided flag sews two printed panels around a blockout liner so both faces read correctly.
Choose the height by viewing distance and by where the flag stands. An 8 ft flag suits a sidewalk, a booth or an indoor lobby; 10 to 12 ft is the usual storefront and car-lot size; 15 ft and taller is for highway frontage or a festival field. Keep the text to a few words set vertically down the flag, with the logo near the top where it stays visible, and use a solid background colour so the flag is recognised before it is read.
Setup takes a few minutes: the sectional pole slides together, the flag sleeve slides over the pole, and the base goes into the ground or onto the floor. A ground spike screws into grass or soil; a cross base with a water bag or a weighted tyre base holds the flag on concrete, asphalt or an indoor floor. The flag rotates on the base so it turns with the wind instead of wrapping around the pole. Take flags down in storms and high winds.
Dye-sublimated polyester holds its colour through months of sun and rain, but a flag is a moving part: wind frays the hem over time, and the fabric fades sooner in strong sun than a printed banner does. Most businesses treat the flag as the consumable and keep the pole kit, ordering a print-only replacement when the flag looks tired. Machine wash cold, do not tumble dry, and store the flag dry to avoid mildew.
Options for feather flags
Single or double sided
A single-sided flag shows the design on the front and a mirror image through the back, which is fine for logos and short words. A double-sided flag sews two printed panels around a blockout liner so text reads correctly from both sides.
Base
A ground spike screws into grass or soil. A cross base with a water bag, or a weighted tyre base, holds the flag on concrete, asphalt and indoor floors. Say where the flag stands and the right base is quoted.
Pole kit or print only
The flag, the pole kit and the base are listed separately, so a first order includes everything and later orders can be the printed flag alone for a pole kit you already own.
Flag shape
The feather shape has a curved top and a straight pole edge. If the logo must stay flat in wind, a teardrop flag holds the panel taut; a rectangular flag shows a square layout.
How ordering works: quote, digital proof, print, then delivery to the USA or Canada. Nothing prints until you approve the proof.
